1. Sun Tzu said: Raising a host of a hundred thousand men and marching them great distances entails heavy loss on the people and a drain on the resources of the State. The daily expenditure will amount to a thousand ounces of silver. There will be commotion at home and abroad, and men will drop down exhausted on the highways. As many as seven hundred thousand families will be impeded in their labor.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ស៊ុនអ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ (១)ការចិញ្ចឹមទ័ព១០ម៉ីននាក់ ការចល័តទ័ពរាប់សិបគីឡូមែត្រ គឺជាការ ខាតបង់ធ្ងន់ធ្ងរសម្រាប់រាស្រ្ត បែបនេះ ឃ្លាំងជាតិក៍រលាយ។ ការចំណាយប្រចាំថ្ងៃនឹងកើនឡើងរាប់សិបតម្លឹងមាសប្រាក់។ (២) ក្នុងភូមិស្រុកក៍មានការរំជើបរំជួល នៅនគរចំណុះផ្សេងៗក៍មានការរំជួលដែរ កងទាហាននឹងអស់កំលាំងល្ហិនល្ហៃដេកតាមដងផ្លូវ។ (៣) បែបនេះ អាចបណ្តាលឲ្យមានប្រមាណជា ៧ម៉ីនគ្រួសារបាត់បង់កំលាំងពលកម្ម។
2. Hostile armies may face each other for years, striving for the victory which is decided in a single day. 4. 7. Hence the use of spies, of whom there are five classes: (1) Local spies; (2) inward spies; (3) converted spies; (4) doomed spies; (5) surviving spies ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ ដូច្នេះការប្រើកំលាំងចារកម្ម គឺសំដៅការប្រើកំលាំង ០៥ថ្នាក់ (១) ចារកម្មផ្ទៃក្នុង (២) ចារកម្មក្រៅប្រទេស(៣) ចារកម្មមុខពីរ (៤) ចារកម្មអ្នកទោស (៥)ចារកម្មសល់ពីស្លាប
8.  When these five kinds of spy are all at work, none can discover the secret system. This is called "divine manipulation of the threads." It is the sovereign's most precious faculty.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖កាលណាចារកម្មទាំង០៥ផ្នែកនេះ ចេញប្រមូលព័ត៍មាន គឺគ្មាននណាម្នាក់អាចដឹងអំពីប្រព័ន្ធបញ្ជាសម្ងាត់ឡើយ។ ប្រព័ន្ធបញ្ជាសម្ងាត់នេះហៅថា “របាំងមុខទេព”។ ប្រព័ន្ធ នេះគឺជាអង្គភាព ដ៍មានតម្លៃបំផុតរបស់នគរ
9. Having local spies means employing the services of the inhabitants of a district. ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ចារកម្មផ្ទៃក្នុង សំដៅថា ការប្រើមនុស្សក្នុងស្រុកយើងឲ្យបម្រើសេវាកម្មចារកិច្ចនេះ
10.  Having inward spies, making use of officials of the enemy. ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ចារកម្មក្រៅប្រទេស គឺការប្រើប្រាស់មន្រ្តីរបស់កំលាំងខាងខ្មាំង
11. Having converted spies, getting hold of the enemy's spies and using them for our own purposes. ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖. ការប្រើចារកម្មមុខពីរ គឺការចាប់យកចារកម្មខ្មាំង រួចបង្ខំវាឲ្យបម្រើការខាងទ័ពយើង
12. Having doomed spies, doing certain things openly for purposes of deception, and allowing our spies to know of them and report them to the enemy.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ ការប្រើប្រាស់ចារកម្មឡង គឺប្រើមនុស្សឲ្យក្លែងភេទ ឲ្យកំលាំងខ្មាំងឃើញ ដឹង រួចឲ្យកំលាំងខ្មាំងវារាយការណ៍ទៅខាងវា
13. Surviving spies, finally, are those who bring back news from the enemy's camp.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ ចារកម្មសល់ពីស្លាប់ និយាយដោយខ្លី គឺសំដៅការប្រើប្រាស់ កំលាំងខ្មាំងដែល សល់ពីស្លាប់ក្នុងសមរភូមិ (ចាប់រស់បាន ចាប់អ្នករបួស...)
14.  Hence it is that which none in the whole army are more intimate relations to be maintained than with spies. None should be more liberally rewarded. 19. 20. Whether the object be to crush an army, to storm a city, or to assassinate an individual, it is always necessary to begin by finding out the names of the attendants, the aides-de-camp, and door-keepers and sentries of the general in command. 21.  The enemy's spies who have come to spy on us must be sought out, tempted with bribes, led away and comfortably housed. Thus they will become converted spies and available for our service ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖.ភ្នាក់ងារចារកម្មខ្មាំងចូលមកធ្វើការនៅទឹកដីយើង ត្រូវតែស្វែងរកឲ្យឃើញ ត្រូវសូកប៉ាន់វា ត្រូវជំរត់វាទៅឆ្ងាយ ត្រូវផ្តល់ផ្ទះសម្បែងល្អមានផាសុកភាពឲ្យវា ពេលហ្នឹងវាទៅជា ចារកម្មមុខពីរ(ចារកម្មឡង) ហើយវានឹងធ្វើកិច្ចការឲ្យយើង។
22. It is through the information brought by the converted spy that we are able to acquire and employ local and inward spies.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖. តាមរយៈព័ត៍មានបានមកពីភ្នាក់ងារចារកម្មឡងនេះ ដែលយើងអាចជ្រើសរើសមុខសញ្ញាភ្នាក់ងារចារកម្មផ្ទៃក្នុង និង ភា្នក់ងារចារកម្មក្រៅប្រទេស
23.  It is owing to his information, again, that we can cause the doomed spy to carry false tidings to the enemy. ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖តាមរយៈភ្នាក់ងារចារកម្មឡងនេះ ជាថ្មីម្តងទៀត យើងអាចធ្វើឲ្យភ្នាក់ងារសំងាត់ រត់រួចចេញពីគុក នាំព័ត៍មានក្លែងក្លាយទៅប្រាប់កំលាំងខាងខ្មាំង
24. Lastly, it is by his information that the surviving spy can be used on appointed occasions.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ជាចុងក្រោយគឺព័ត៍មានបានពីភ្នាក់ងាររួចពីស្លាប់ គេអាចប្រើប្រាស់សម្រាប់ឪកាស ពិសេសណាមួយ
25. The end and aim of spying in all its five varieties is knowledge of the enemy; and this knowledge can only be derived, in the first instance, from the converted spy. 26. Of old, the rise of the Yin dynasty was due to I Chih who had served under the Hsia. Likewise, the rise of the Chou dynasty was due to Lu Ya who had served under the Yin.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖រំលឹកចាស់ ការកកើតអាណាចក្រយិន មកពីមេចារកម្ម អ៊ី ឈិញ ដែលបម្រើស្តេច អ៊ីសារ។ ដូចគ្នានេះដែរ អាណាចក្រ ជូ កើតឡើងដោយ មេចារកម្មឈ្មោះ លូយ៉ា ដែលបម្រើស្តេច យិន។
27.  Hence it is only the enlightened ruler and the wise general who will use the highest intelligence of the army for purposes of spying and thereby they achieve great results. Spies are a most important element in water, because on them depends an army's ability to move.ស៊ុន អ៊ូ ចែងថា៖ ដូច្នេះ គឺមានតែមេដឹកនាំមានបញ្ញាញាណ និងមានមេទ័ពមានភាពវ័យឆ្លាត ដែលអាចប្រើប្រាស់ព័ត៍មានចារកម្មយោធាចំគោលដៅកម្រិតខ្ពស់ សម្រាប់ជាប្រយោជន៍ ក្នុងគោលបំណងផ្នែកយោធា។ ស្ថាបនចារកម្ម គឺជាអង្គភាពសំខាន់បំផុតក្នុងធាតុទឹក ពី ព្រោះមានតែព័ត៍មានចារកម្ម ដែលអាចឲ្យយោធាអាចចល័តក្នុងទឹកបាន--ក៍អាចលិចក្នុងទឹកបាន​ "Tu Mu closes with a note of warning: # "Just as water, which carries a boat from bank to bank, may also be the means of sinking it, so reliance on spies, while productive of great results, is oft-times the cause of utter destruction."
