During the Tang Dynasty, the emperor led 300,000 troops to cross sea for conquering Korea. However, the army halted upon arrival at the shore because there was great storm in the sea. His Highness feared the whole army would be drowned during crossing the sea. He lost confidence. The accompanying ministers worried much. Then a general known as Sit had a plot. General Sit told Emperor that there was a noble man living nearby, who wanted to donate military supplies to the army. Emperor was very pleased and wanted to meet this nobleman at once. General Sit led the way for the Emperor. When His Highness reached the place where in fact near the shore, there was not sea at all. However, there were about ten thousand houses. The nobleman was present and invited Him to his premises. The noble’s house was elegantly decorated. They talked in high spirit. The Emperor enjoyed food, wine and felt very relaxed. Suddenly, the house staked and noisy outside . The Emperor doubted so he left up the curtain. He was surprised to see the sea. General Sit then told the Emperor ” Your Highness with your unbeatable army is now marching across the Sea to conquer Korea.” The Emperor had no choice but determined to go the way! In fact, all the houses were fabricated by workmen before. The noble’s premises were in fact a battleship with fake decorations to make it look like a big house!

Conceal your preparations by being completely open and public. The police of a town were looking for a cat burglar that continually struck in a certain wealthy neighborhood. Finally, after failing to catch him after weeks of trying, they set up a watch on either end of every street. The officers were ordered to note the arrival and departure of every person, so that all could be questioned. And yet, the burglaries continued for several days, until one observant policeman realized that a postman was making rounds on a postal holiday. The "postman" was finally nabbed. Yet he had succeeded for so long because he had made himself an acceptable part of the scenery while in the act of committing burglaries.
Another form of deceiving the sky to cross the sea is to make open preparations for war without ever actually going to war---until the enemy no longer takes you seriously.
